SAN JOSE, CA (July 8, 2021) Elastics.cloud today announced the closing of $6 million in seed funding and the appointment of the board of directors. Elastics.cloud, a semiconductor, hardware, and software systems company, leverages the Compute Express Link (CXL) interconnect to develop composable system architectures. As CXL continues to gain adoption, Elastics.cloud’s robust solution enhances the effective utilization of components, while improving performance and lowering costs to address the fast-growing Edge Computing Market.

The funding round was led by Sehat Sutardja and Weili Dai, founders of Marvell Technology Group, and currently CEO and President, respectively, of FLC Technology Group. Dr. Sutardja will also be joining the Elastics.cloud board of directors, and Ms. Dai will be a special advisor to the Elastics.cloud CEO.

Dr. Sehat Sutardja, CEO, FLC Technology Group. Sehat is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of the modern semiconductor age. He is the co-founder and former CEO of Marvell Technology Group and currently the CEO at FLC Technology Group. He has been recognized and awarded around the world for his achievements in advancing technology through innovation in engineering, driving adoption of technology into new markets and evangelizing the use of the latest technology in developing nations that will greatly impact the future.

Dr. Naveed Sherwani, Chairman of Silicon Federation. Naveed is a world-renowned chip expert, researcher, author of several books, serial entrepreneur and academician. He founded Intel Microelectronics Services, where he pioneered Open methodology for EDA. And later, he founded Open Silicon which became a leader in chip design services. He currently holds several Board Member and Advisor positions and has also served as President and CEO of SiFive, and Chairman of StarFive and LeapFive.

Shreyas Shah, Founder, CTO & Chief Scientist, Elastics.cloud. Shreyas has over 25 years of progressive experience in the design of semiconductors, systems design, and architecture in fields of computing, networking, storage technologies, virtualization and Flash based storage. Shreyas has over 15 patents issued and numerous pending.

George Apostol, Founder & CEO, Elastics.cloud. George has over 35 years of experience designing system-on-chip (SoC), hardware, software, and systems. He holds several patents for interconnect and interface design and has led technology organizations developing products for several markets. As VP of Engineering and CTO at PLX Technology, he drove the development of PCI Express switches, which are broadly used in the market today.
